Democrat Donor Runs for Denton County GOP Chairman
Snakes are attempting to slither into GOP leadership roles. This week we exposed a Democrat donor running as a Republican in a race against Angela Paxton for SD8.
Also this week, James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas exposed an Arizona GOP candidate that stated that the Republican Party is “disgusting” and that he will just “gladly take their donors.”
Now it seems something similar may be happening in the Denton County GOP.

Brent A. Hagenbuch, GOP precinct chair and founder of Titus Transport, announced a run for Denton County GOP chair after Jayne Howell indicated that she would not seek re-election. Unfortunately for Denton County GOP, Hagenbuch is on the shortlist for becoming it’s next GOP Chair.

Just this year Hagenbuch donated $250 to Curtis Cornelious’ campaign for mayor of Little Elm.
Schemers and excuse-makers will say “oh but local elections are non-partisan!”
This is a common misconception and lie. Every race is partisan. Every single race. And a potential chairman of the GOP would know this. Let’s take a look at Curtis Corenelious’ voting record:
GOP Data Center has Cornelious labeled as a “Hard Democrat” with an overwhelming Democrat voting history.
Denton County GOP released its 2021 municipal election recommendations and specifically stated that “Dems are endorsing” Curtis Cornelious for mayor of Little Elm. Despite this, Hagenbuch ignored his own party’s endorsement and gave money to a Democrat. Now he wants to be GOP Chair.

Why did Hagenbuch donate against his own party’s recommendation, the same party he now wants to lead? Does a future Denton County GOP run by Hagenbuch include Democrat endorsements?

Hagenbuch did turn around and end up making a donation to Ken Eaken two months later via his company. Which brings up several other questions for another time.
An overwhelming amount of Denton County grassroots activists have expressed their concerns regarding Hagenbuch, mostly due to typical establishment Republicans supporting him.
