CUCKED: Dems tell White Devil James Dickey Your First Amendment is Over
Nobody could have seen this coming.
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A Harris County judge has denied the Republican Party's request for a temporary restraining order against Mayor Sylvester Turner and the city. The Texas GOP asked the judge for a restraining order which would have forced the city to allow their state convention.
The Republican Party said they expected to lose, ""It didn't matter in which court this case landed, we expected a denial from the liberal Harris County courts," said RPT Chairman James Dickey. "We thank them for a speedy denial so we can move forward with the appeal we had prepared."
This is a form of Stockholm Syndrome where you are so used to the abuse that you thank your abusers.
The Texas Republican Party and another group of Republicans filed suits against Mayor Turner and the city for canceling the Texas GOP convention that was scheduled for next week at the George Brown Convention Center.
The Republican Party sued for breach of contract and is asking for a temporary restraining order preventing the city from restricting the convention or "using the virus as a pretext to cancel the convention.”
Imagine a scenario where you suspend everybody’s first amendment rights because the corporate press told you to be afraid of the flu. Then, imagine being frustrated when you find out your first amendment has also been canceled. It’s truly mind-bending to imagine something so shocking.
The plaintiffs argue that, despite issuing formal orders throughout the pandemic, most "ultimately went unenforced, ignored, or even circumvented."
They continue on to argue that Turner only recently started enforcing such orders when it came to the Republican convention.
Republican leadership treats this situation much in the same way a conservative college student would argue with a leftist on the internet. They point out the other side is hypocritical as if that matters to them.
Turner said that although he has not read and or seen the lawsuit for himself, he believes his actions were justified.
"The reality is that they signed a contract in March that defined this as a pandemic," Turner said. "They are welcomed to go to the courthouse, but I don't know if the court is seeing people in-person."
I assume he has not read the lawsuit because he cannot read. But you’d think he would at least have someone read it to him. It’s also funny that he has been able to outmaneuver the RPT with such ease. Even Turner has the ability to comprehend that because everything is locked down, the Bill of Rights and speedy trials are also no longer guaranteed.
The Texas Republican Party is on the verge of collapse. The reason for this is simple, they always make the wrong decision and say the wrong things. I can imagine a number of plans to deal with this challenge the TX GOP faces. Filing a lawsuit with courts that are shut down and pointing out that the Democrats protect their constituent’s first amendment rights to riot and loot is not among those plans.
The Republican Party of Texas has destroyed the economy, taken away all our most basic rights, and has been publicly humiliated by a Democrat Mayor. Obviously, holding the convention in Houston was a mistake. If Republicans had any grasp on political strategy, they would have held the convention in the most solidly Republican suburb of the greater Houston area. This not only greatly reduces this kind of cockblock, but also rewards your own voters with additional business and tax revenue.
Maybe they should have thought about it.
