Bud Kennedy Mad at Sheriff Waybourn for Endorsing Mommy Beth
Bud Kennedy has temporarily closed his private browsing tabs in order to write an article doing what the leftist media does best: morally shaming Republican politicians for being effective.
FORT WORTH
Sheriff Bill Waybourn, leave us out of political ads.
Stop wearing our Tarrant County uniform, emblems and badge in campaign ads, like the TV commercial with three of your deputies and three county constables backing congressional candidate Beth Van Duyne.
That county uniform, emblem and badge are not yours to wear for partisan politics.
They are ours.
They belong to everyone in Tarrant County.
Not only is wearing your uniform for political campaigning wrong — it’s also damaging for law officers working to maintain the public’s trust.
You’re better than this.
The Sheriff is a politician. His deputies are law enforcement officers. The Sherriff is no different than a mayor and city council who appoint a police chief. This hand wringing that a Republican shouldn’t endorse another Republican is childish. The 12 Democrats that care what Bud has to say might buy it, but not much else
A popular saying goes “when your enemy is in the process of destroying himself, stay out of his way.” If Bud thought this ad would hurt Beth, he wouldn’t have said anything. He especially wouldn’t have done this pathetic appeal to emotion as his argument against it.
The truth is, if the politicians that represent you aren’t being attacked daily in the media, they are wasting your time. Effective politicians incur the wrath of the media. Harmless ones get left alone. This is an endorsement of Mommy Beth and her “Dems will let rioters kill you” messaging.
