Of Course, Pt. 2 — TX Failed to Winterize Power Plants Because ‘Global Warming’

If you had major damage to your property from the Arctic blast last week, you may want to close out this page before reading any further.

If it wasn’t bad enough that Texas Republicans blew off calls to address power grid vulnerabilities, and power providers didn’t do safety inspections because they were afraid of catching a cold, new information has come to light that the decision not to legally require power plants to winterize was based on reports given to the Texas legislature suggesting global warming was happening to such an extent that winterizing the system was unnecessary.

Blue-haired Representative Michelle Beckley [D-HD65] highlighted a vote on Twitter she says would have required power plants to winterize their systems in order to, you know, prepare for winter.

The Republican who previously held the seat in House District 65, Ron Simmons, jumped in to imply the legislature based the decision not to mandate preparing for winter on a report suggesting that so much global warming was happening that winterizing the systems would not be necessary.

The report states that winters in the near future were expected to be “about 5.6°F warmer than the 1950-1999 average” and that a “decrease was expected” in winter weather.

Meanwhile, in reality…

The job of Weather Prophet continues to prove to be quite lucrative. The best part is that it seems as though continued employment in the weather guessing industry is not contingent upon successful predictions.

Republicans in the Texas House were just outmaneuvered politically by a woman with blue hair. This is pretty much standard from Republicans at this point.

Numerous sources have been covering what is supposedly a federal mandate that prevented Texas power companies from meeting the electricity demand. The wording of these orders is convoluted, and I can’t really tell what’s going on with them, although it wouldn’t surprise me if that were true.

We probably also had an Enron-type situation where the price was being artificially inflated for the purpose of making a bunch of money.

Whatever the case, Texas independence gives us the best opportunity to get away from these federal rules while also reshaping the court system where people actually get in trouble for crimes against the state.

A top priority of an independent Texas nation would also be to ban blue-haired feminists from the state legislature. We can’t have people like this running circles around our elected officials and making them look like complete morons. It’s just not good for business.
