Angie Chen Button Refusing To Ban Vaccination Requirement By Employers

Texas House Bill 1687, which would ban discrimination by employers based on their covid-19 vaccination status, is currently stuck in International Relations & Economic Development committee. This committee is chaired by Rep. Angie Chen Button.

Lots to say here. We won’t.

HB 1687 would prohibit employers from discriminating against employees based on their covid-19 vaccination status. If you’re reading this, we don’t need to tell you how important this bill is. We also don’t need to tell you the mortality rate of covid and the current issues with the vaccinations that many are facing.

Houston Methodist is saying it will fire workers who refuse covid vaccinations. This will become commonplace if this bill does not pass.

We do find it interesting that Rep. Chen-Button is refusing to move this out of committee. A quick look at her campaign finance reports shows that not only has she received major donations from AT&T and Texas Instruments, but that she’s also a former employee of Texas Instruments.

Our Secret Squirrels in Austin are reporting to us that Angie is refusing to move this out of committee due to a request by Texas Instruments. A call to Texas instruments about their vaccination requirements received no-comment by their HR, but the HR representative was very excited to tell us they had recently been vaccinated and only suffered “mild side effects”.

We’d call that “lucky.”

We would also like to remind the reader that Rep Chen-Button recently abstained in a vote on constitutional carry. Is she actually a Republican? Can’t say.
