Greg Abbott Reminds Peasants to Remain Anti-Social During Hurricane Clean Up
Texas Governor Greg Abbott continues to fill the role formerly played by our mommies in telling people to “watch out” and “be careful” in regards to catching infectious diseases. He’s warning people in South Texas specifically not to go near other humans, despite the fact that people’s property there has just been damaged by a hurricane.
In this clip, he reiterates that we are all moments away from certain death from COVID-19, and that its “SOO IMPORTANT” that everybody understands that just because a hurricane destroyed their homes doesn’t mean that COVID has left.
He says that property being destroyed by a hurricane can, unfortunately, lead to some people wanting to help their friends and neighbors in the cleanup, and this is very bad because there is a virus. With flailing hand motions, he urged people to wear face muzzles while they are working outside with chainsaws and moving heavy debris in the 100% humidity of July.
The governor says that “gatherings” can lead to “a transmission” of this deadly virus. So never gather with another human.
So there you have it, folks. Better to be safe than sorry.
