Allen West Has the Correct Instincts

A few days ago, the Republican Party of Texas state delegates voted on the Party’s legislative priorities. Here is the list:

I’ll save my commentary on this list for another day. But now let’s look at the priorities from 2017.

Mostly the same demands every year

Mostly the same demands every year

Republicans have controlled the Texas government for decades now, yet nothing the people demand ever gets accomplished. But who is to blame for this? Therein lies the problem. Large Republican majorities, year after year, gives way to a comfortable complacency among the supposed statesman we send to Austin.

Political parties exist because they are efficient. They pool resources together and are able to build networks that streamline the electoral process so the people chosen to represent the party have a large advantage over an independent. However, because the party is an administrative and bureaucratic apparatus at its core, it falls into the same trap every social bureaucracy does, especially ones who hold power comfortably: It evolves to deflect accountability for absolutely any and all failures.

When it comes to the failure to pass legislation or otherwise do anything productive, these Republicans are able to hide behind the perceived legitimacy of simply holding the majority as the excuse for their failures.

We witnessed this in action after the 2019 legislative session. After none of the legislative priorities were even attempted to be passed into law, Dickey told us that the session was actually, secretly, a great success.

He says this because he understands how the system is set up. It’s set up so there is nobody to blame, by design. He cannot blame the Democrats because, on paper, they hold little power. So then, if the blame lies with Republicans, well, then those Republicans have names. Naming names is not a part of the system.

Look at what the “most conservative” member of the Texas House is talking about these days.

Think about what is being done to us with these hoax lockdowns and riots in our cities. Now consider whether people actually care much about these fringe issues like money trails in public interest groups.

Saying that local governments are doing taxing and spending is not breaking news to anyone. And the number of people in the state who can even tell you the meaning of “taxpayer funding lobbying” is so few it’s irrelevant.

I’m not trying to pick on Briscoe. He’s better than most.

Allen West

In his final pitch to delegates LTC Allen West said some great and true things, he aways does. Hilariously, he said while standing in front of the monument for the Battle of San Jacinto, the battlefield where the Texians fought the Mexicans to free themselves from their tyranny was “really not too much different” than the battles we face today.

What he said about what Republicans need was even more important.

“It’s not just about raising money. It’s not just about saying how many people did we go out and get to register to vote. It’s about creating a movement.”

Others have criticized these comments as akin to the hard-left brown communism movement goals of AOC (which you may have noticed is having wild success) and claiming that Republicans already have a movement that entails simply electing the same people over and over again.

This is absurd on its face. Clearly, something else is needed as electing Republicans is not accomplishing our goals as outlined in the priorities, and in fact things are getting much worse.

We need a create a movement. However, LTC West is inclined to favor talking points of a movement similar to other Republicans before him. That is, a movement based on economic principles and various abstract concepts of liberty. This is incorrect as this strategy has proven throughout history to be ineffective at mobilizing the masses of people. Republicans love to play in this space, because it’s “safe” and the media will allow them to (because they know it doesn’t work.) However, you cannot have a movement based on economics. If only a tiny number of people will show up to an event to protest economic policy changes, how many do we think will risk their lives for such an endeavour?

We already took this train as far as it goes

We already took this train as far as it goes

If our political strategy is based on the foundation that economic growth and opportunity will strengthen our nation, why do we we find that as our economic output increases our nation becomes weaker? The answer is because this foundation is built on sand and totally unworthy of the credibility we have given it.

Our strategy should be one of right wing identity and culture based on Christian principles, as well as a healthy attitude and recognition of the realities of this multicultural experiment we are trying in America. We cannot simply claim we want a movement void of racial consciousness, for this denies the reality of the nature of man.

Allen West and other Republican leaders need to talk about communism and socialism as a cultural attack and not just an economic one. Communism is the inversion of the natural order leading to a chaos the crushes the human spirit. It elevates the weak and stupid for no other reason than they are weak and stupid. It also disperses responsibility for its failures, usually picking a scapegoat in the form of the strong and capable.

Furthermore, Allen West has said that victory is ours if we go on the offensive. This is another important point. These visions and concepts must be boldly articulated and presented in such a way that appeals to people’s self interest in addition to the fear of the alternative.

Allen West is correct that drastic change and momentum is needed in the Republican Party. He may or may not know what I’ve described here. But one thing is clear: we need men (and women, perhaps) to step up and be willing to sacrifice themselves for this new movement.

We need people who know they will be hated by the media, lied about, spit upon and attacked, but are willing to endure this sacrifice for a brighter future. We seek:

  • A pro-family future where parents can raise their own children, where public degeneracy and bizarre social experimentation are crushed out of existence

  • A society where God is honored

  • A culture where Americans are once again proud of who they are, and are not sorry for the glorious achievements of their ancestors

Obviously, there are a number of prerequisites and other necessary steps to go along with these goals, which I will not get into here.

We should measure success by our freedom of speech, the message and tone coming from elected Republicans, and their courage to stand publicly in opposition to the neoliberal world order and articulating an effective rebuke. The reason we should use these benchmarks at this time is these will effect society and public discourse. LTC West must bring about a movement to restore law and order, and restore the historical American culture. This will necessarily tread into water of racial awareness, but the Democrats already speak in terms of racial awareness, so there is no reason why we cannot also put forth our own vision for a new civil society in contrast to the Dem’s “kill whitey” platform.

These things will gain you the ire of our modern world, but we need people to step up and lead. Our Party needs a new structure where accountability falls on individuals, and not just Allen West, but the people who hold the power. The time for electing people to sit on top of the rest of the party and “wait their turn” to be speaker of the house, governor, etc. are over.

Exactly which changes need to be made in the structure of the party remain to be seen. But with this new vision will come a fresh crop of honest, potential leaders who can believe in such a structure of accountability.

The pain from persecution and hatred from the media and the leftist power structure will be real for those who choose this fight, but it will be only but a short moment from an eternal perspective. After all, the man who was most hated above all men is doing pretty well these days.
