Texas “Road Rage” Recap, Drive Safe and Stay Armed

Reduced traffic policing, increased drug use, and racial agitation amount to a recipe for disaster. It should be no surprise that “road rage” shootings are increasing all over the country and in all parts of Texas.

Houston, has already seen over 100 “road rage” shootings events in 2021.

Since the beginning of 2021… the Houston Police Dept. has received 1,500 calls regarding road rage. One hundred of those calls involve guns and violence.

The number of incidents is up nearly 30% from three years ago.

A father and son recently left an Astro’s game in Houston. The father exchanged hands signals with another driver, the kind of thing most of us have done many times. The other car followed the father and son and opened fire on them a little while later. The 17-year-old son was killed.

Similar problems are occurring in DFW.

On I-35, a scene like something from a Terminator movie erupted last month when JeDerek Gray flew through traffic on his motorcycle, parked in front of another driver and began walking towards him with a gun.

The fatal chain of events unfolded last Friday on the I-35 highway in Fort Worth, when the biker, 19-year-old JaDerek Gray, was weaving his way between rows of vehicles, an illegal maneuver that’s known as “lane-splitting,” Fox4 said.

At one point, an unidentified SUV driver began changing lanes, forcing Gray to swerve to avoid a collision, CBS DFW said.

Gray passed several cars and parked his motorcycle, blocking the northbound traffic — then reportedly began walking back toward the SUV while pointing a handgun at the driver.

The SUV driver told Gray to put down the gun because there were kids in his car. But the biker kept coming, so the other man drew his own handgun and opened fire, hitting Gray multiple times, according to reports.

Only Gray, who later died, was injured.

In Garland, last night, a driver pulled along a wrecker and opened fire.

While police say they are on it, there is no sign that these incidents are slackening. Drive safe and don’t engage with people. If you have someone riding with you, it might also be time to remind them why it is called the shotgun seat.
