Trump Should Never Stop Being Trump

Your friend’s telling you that Trump is too “mean” are stupid. If that person complaining about Trump being “mean” happens to be a man, then that person is stupid and also gay.

Too many Conservatives and Centrists will timidly tell you that Trump is imperfect, but he's better than the alternative. They'll say they wish he wasn't so mean, that he didn't tweet so much, that he would be more careful in how he speaks, but that he's slightly more preferable than the unhinged Democrats. They're wrong. Trump isn't a necessary evil or a rational compromise, he's exactly what America needs.

Exactly what America needs

Exactly what America needs

Don't listen to the Neo-Cons, identity politics is real. Humanity is inherently, inevitably tribal. Be it racial, religious, or recreational, people long to be in groups that share defining commonalities. That tribe used to be "America." For all our differences, we had baseball, Coca-Cola, apple pie, and hating the Commies, and that was enough. America became a shining example to the world because our commitment to freedom and prosperity overwhelmed our superficial differences.

But when you take away American exceptionalism, the superficial differences are all you have left. When we're no longer proud of our accomplishments, when we no longer demand assimilation from waves of unchecked immigration, when we pay thousands of dollars to have unkempt, limp-wristed elitists teach our children "America was never great", all we are is a time bomb of racial tribes and civil unrest. Progressives have pushed against any semblance of patriotism for decades now, and the only authoritative pushback has come from "principled" RINOs who feel their only obligation to Conservatives is to lose the culture war as politely as possible. But Trump doesn't lose.

Donald Trump is every positive and negative stereotype about America rolled into one and dialed up to 11. He's an incredibly successful businessman who eats McDonald's and well done steaks. He's loud and crude and arrogant, but charismatic and hilarious. He's aggressive and ruthless toward his enemies but fiercely protective of his allies. Most importantly, he never backs down, and he never apologizes for who he is and who Americans are.

America is the greatest country in the history of the world because we believe we are, and we choose to be. We're more affluent, powerful, and influential than any other superpower in history, despite being the youngest. The American Experiment has been an unprecedented success, and Trump is the first president in a generation to unabashedly embrace that.

Trump has such a diverse coalition of supporters because he's rekindled the idea of America. For all the talk of his "divisive" rhetoric, Trump has more minority support than any modern GOP candidate, and by a lot. Democrats have spent decades preventing success and telling their constituents that it's America's fault they can't get ahead, but Trump removed those barriers, and the country noticed. Trump didn't get roaring crowds all over the country chanting "we love you!" with empty platitudes and broken promises. He got them by promising to fight for the American worker, and delivering on his promises.

Trump engineered three historic peace deals in the Middle East, with more on the way. He shattered several unemployment records and created an economy so powerful it took a global pandemic to even slow it down, and it's already on its way back up. He stopped our allies from ripping us off and made our enemies give us the respect we deserve. And he didn't do any of these things because he's a clean-cut, articulate Conservative with a boring Twitter account. He pulled them off because he's an asshole who doesn't take no for an answer.

Trump is not the lesser evil. Trump is not an unfortunate compromise. Trump is authentically, shamelessly, violently American. He's a rich Boomer with a supermodel wife who ran for president because he thought he could do it better, and he won. And if that's not the American Dream, I don't know what is.
