A New Machine

When our fearless leader, Allen West, ascended to the throne of Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas to lead us in battle against the evil Chair Man, Greg Abbott, LTC West proclaimed  “a new movement” was needed.

Over the last several decades, despite instances of large Republican majorities at the state and national level, our country continues a slow decline on every front. Most Republicans are either incapable of leadership in the face of hostile leftist ideologues, or they enjoy their role as managers of America’s decline.

The only thing the Republican Party seems to be able to do well is to burn its own people who violate leftist orthodoxy. Clearly, courage is in short supply and cowardice abounds.

As we have written about, these issues are structural just as much as they are about a lack of courage and will. Deep changes are needed in the Republican Party or it will surely cease to exist in the near future.

The Party, as it exists now, is mostly a circle jerk of monied interests and various forms of ideologues. Of course, these phenomenons will be found anywhere democracy exists, Currently it is the monied interests that get what they want at the expense of any larger efforts. The ideologues we have in the Party today are typically liberals who think they are conservatives. Promoting things like “free markets” above all else, which is in fact a liberal position. The same thing can be said with many of the other libertarian crossover views. They are antithetical to conserving anything, yet have come to be associated with conservatism.

Although they will nicely push back, the media won’t smear any Republican who aggressively promote free markets, because it’s not even a conservative position.

Lots of excuses for why this happened, yet it remains so

Here is the foundational concept for a new, effective version of the Republican Party of Texas: You don’t need a republican apparatus to deliver a republican form of government. We don’t need an elaborate party apparat with rules and procedures that make change painfully slow and quell any real momentum for action.

As you observe the Party operate, they go through all these rituals, votes, and other meaningless exercises, all while nothing actually gets accomplished. How many hours spent obsessing over the Party platform when nearly every single member of the SREC would love for the platform to be installed into law as is if given the option?

Everybody already knows what they want, they want a constitutional form of government, they want the Bill of Rights, they want rule of law. You don’t need a political party run like a constitutional government to deliver a constitutional government. So what are the purposes of these meetings if not solely for some to stroke their own egos and pretend it’s a real lawmaking body?

What we propose is a New Republican Party designed for accountability and results in order to deliver to the People what they have voted for.

Proposed changes

As we laid out in previous articles, a key problem that arises when Republicans fail to deliver for their constituents is a lack of anyone who can clearly take the blame. Currently, many are blaming Governor Abbott.

Ok, that’s fine, but he’s got a $40M+ war chest so you better think of another plan.

At best, people have recently used the Speaker of the Texas House as a scapegoat.

While the Speaker is indeed powerful in the Texas government, he is not more powerful than the majority of members. By handing control of the actual party (that is separate from the government) over to one person, all of the monied interests and media pressure become less relevant, because ultimately the results speak for themselves. Republicans who cross the Leader (Chairman) and go against his agenda will be held accountable.

In this new version of the Republican Party, the Leader will have much more power but also more accountability. Every position in the Party will be appointed by the Leader except for the Leader themselves and the Precinct Chairs, both of whom will be elected. The leader will be elected by the Precinct Chairs because the Precinct Chairs are the purest form of the grassroots and represent the grassroots’ interests. The Precinct Chairs will be elected by the voters in their precincts. This will also increase the power and appeal of the Precinct Chair, which will attract people and help to fill current vacancies in this position.

Legislative Direction and Final Accountability Comes From the Leader

This new model gives way for a much more focused legislative effort, as well as a unified vision on the ground that comes from the Leader. If at any point it is determined the Leader is no longer pursing interests relating to defending the Republic of Texas or restoring constitutional governance then it is the duty of the grassroots to remove the rogue Leader.

The leader will also work closely with messaging for the party at large. A more accurate but somewhat unfashionable term for this would be propaganda. Therefore the most important characteristics of the Leader will be the ability to communicate an effective message and to motivate (or coerce) other Republicans to put the agenda of the Leader at the forefront. Imagine how quickly we could check items off the legislative priorities list if the party was unified in accomplishing them, one at a time.

Election Performance Accountability Falls on the Vice Chair

The Vice Chair will be of the utmost importance to the success of the Leader and therefore the party, because step 1 of electoral politics is to win elections. The Leader will fill this role by appointment, so that they are able to choose the best possible person for this role.

Editors Note: this new system relies on a cultural shift away from the status quo of sleaze bags becoming politicians and instead makes political involvement about duty to your country. Men and women will be asked to serve in these roles, often unpaid, and it’s up to us to create a culture of excellence and honor whereby people who are asked to contribute their talents to the Party do so out of duty to country and duty to God. It will no longer be “whoever shows up.”

Creating Accountability

The Party must have the ability to punish defectors. The Democrats and their controllers have a stranglehold over the corporate media, so they do not need a formal mechanism to punish those who rebel with their agenda. A system of accountability will quickly put an end to all these legislators wasting our time with their bills about shrimp fishing licenses or whatever.

Censures can be brought about by the Leader or the County Chairs. If a motion to censure is presented by the Leader, the measure is voted on by County Chairs and Precinct Chairs. If a motion to censure is presented by a County Chair, the measure is voted on by the Precinct Chairs. Therefore, we see the action or lack thereof to reign in selfish officials now rests solely on select individuals within party leadership.

County Chairs would oversee municipal elections, SREC would oversee offices elected to serve in Austin, and the Vice Chair would oversee them all as well as be responsible for school board elections.

We also need a way to remove people from the Republican Party.

There is no reason people like Joe Straus, Dennis Bonnen, Dustin Burrows, etc. should have access to Party resources. People who are deemed traitors need to be kicked out of the party where they can run for office on their own or switch to the Democratic Party. Honestly, I am fine with the Leader having this power for himself, as that is how bad our situation is currently.

Obviously, much more can be described about this proposed system. The purpose of this is to lay out the basic argument for why such a system would be better than the current system.

Im not saying this is a permanent solution. It is, however, an immediate solution.

We can either do this now, or we can do it after Democrats take Texas, whenever that ends up happening.
